You do not need any of this to start. Some shops need all of it.
WynkPay runs on the Android phone in your pocket. Hardware exists for the shops where that is not enough: a queue that needs a printed slip, a forecourt that needs a counter-top, a street where the tower falls over at 17:00. Every unit is rent-to-own over 24 months and is managed remotely, so a failed device is swapped rather than debugged.
Sunmi P2 Pro
Handheld. Card reader, printer and scanner in one hand.
The workhorse. It takes chip, contactless and QR, prints a 58 mm slip, scans barcodes for stock and price lookups, and runs all day on a 5 000 mAh battery. 4G is built in, so it keeps trading when the shop WiFi does not.
Spaza shops, taverns, forecourt attendants and anyone who walks the payment to the customer.

Counter-top, with a screen facing the customer.
A 15.6" till with an independent 10.1" customer-facing display, so the person paying reads the amount off their own screen instead of squinting at yours. Gigabit Ethernet for shops on a fixed line, external scanner and printer support for a full front counter.
Supermarkets, butcheries, liquor stores and any counter with a queue and a shelf behind it.

The till stays online through load-shedding and a congested tower.
Two LTE modems on two different networks, a WiFi 6 router, and a 48 Ah battery that carries the shop's payment network through about eight hours without grid power. Optional 200 W solar keeps it charged through longer stages. It reports its own uplink state, battery level and signal strength back to us every minute, so we know a shop is about to go dark before the shopkeeper does.
Any street where the shop closes because the network did, not because the stock ran out.

How the fleet is run
A terminal you do not have to look after.
- Every device checks in with our terminal management service on a heartbeat, reporting battery, signal, storage and error counts.
- Configuration and card-reader keys are injected remotely — a replacement unit is provisioned before it leaves the depot.
- Firmware and app updates roll out to 5% of the fleet first, then 20%, then everyone, so a bad build never reaches every till at once.
- A device that stops checking in raises a support ticket automatically. You should hear from us before you phone us.
- Rent-to-own over 24 months, then the hardware is yours. Repairs and swaps are included for the whole term.
