The operating day

This is what a WynkPay trading day looks like.

Not a feature list — the actual sequence a shop moves through between opening the security gate and cashing up. Everything below happens in one app, on one login, against one balance.

  1. 05:40

    Open the till

You open a shift and count in your cash float. If you have staff on a second phone, their till opens under your account with only the permissions you granted — take payments, yes; issue refunds, no.

  2. 06:15

    The morning rush

The QR code on the counter takes payment from the WynkPay app and from every South African bank app. Customers on WynkPay settle closed-loop in under a second at the lowest rate on the schedule; everyone else falls back to PayShap without anybody noticing.

  3. 08:30

A card customer, no card machine

Somebody wants to tap a bank card. You take it on the phone in your hand — tap-to-phone runs a PCI CPoC-certified kernel, so the PIN never touches the app. Under a floor limit you can keep accepting taps even when the line is down; the transactions queue and clear when signal returns.

  4. 10:00

    Airtime, data, electricity

Someone needs R12 of airtime and a R50 electricity token. Both sell from the same screen as your payments, and the commission lands in the same balance. When the tower is congested, the top twenty products still sell from the on-device voucher cache.

  5. 12:45

Stock, before the shelf is empty

The Wholesale Hub shows you supplier catalogues with live pricing. Build a basket, pay from your settlement balance, or apply for stock on credit against the takings we can already see. Delivery is booked and tracked to your door.

  6. 14:20

The offer you did not apply for

If your volume qualifies, an advance offer appears in the app with the total repayable printed on it in rands. Accept, and the money is in your wallet the same day; repayment is a slice of each day's settlement, so a quiet week costs you less.

  7. 15:00

    Settlement

The afternoon cycle nets your takings against your fees, your VAS commission and any advance instalment, and pays the balance to your own bank account. You see the arithmetic, line by line, not a lump sum you have to trust.

  8. 19:30

    Close the shift

Cash counted out, variance flagged against expected cash sales, shift closed. The monthly statement you can hand to SARS or a landlord is generated from the same records — as PDF or CSV, no bookkeeping required.

Why merchants switch

Four things that are hard to get anywhere else.

0.75%

closed-loop rate

The fee you do not pay

Every sale between a WynkPay customer and a WynkPay shop skips the interbank leg entirely. There is no interchange to pass on, so we do not pass one on.

R0

to start

No terminal to buy

QR costs a printed code. Tap-to-phone runs on the Android handset you already own. Hardware is available when the queue justifies it — never as the price of entry.

Same day

advance payout

Credit that reads your till, not your paperwork

We can see the turnover. No bank statements, no lease agreement, no guarantor — and repayment flexes with your takings rather than hitting a fixed date.

8

VAS categories

Margin on things you never stocked

Airtime, data, electricity, DStv, insurance, government payments. Every sale is commission on a product you did not buy, carry or shrink.

We send a one-time PIN to confirm the number, then walk you through FICA verification and your banking details inside the app. Most shops are taking payments the same day.
